Getting Started

Welcome to Olive Code! This guide will help you understand the platform and get set up for your first project.

Welcome to the Olive Code worker platform! As a worker, you'll be building web applications for clients who describe their ideas through our iOS app, Olive. This documentation covers everything you need to know to be successful.

Before You Begin

Make sure you've been whitelisted by an administrator. You'll need your email added to the whitelist before you can sign in.

Olive Code is a platform that connects people with app ideas to skilled developers who can bring those ideas to life. Here's how it works:

  1. Client Describes Their Idea

Clients use the Olive iOS app to describe their app idea through natural conversation. Olive generates a Product Requirements Document (PRD) that captures all the details.

  2. Project Goes to Marketplace

Once submitted, the project appears in the Worker Marketplace where you can browse and claim projects that interest you.

  3. You Build the App

After claiming a project, you receive access to the GitHub repository, GCP project, and Vercel deployment. You build the app according to the PRD.

  4. Client Reviews and Iterates

Clients review preview deployments and provide feedback. You iterate until the app meets their expectations.

  5. Project Completion

Once the client is satisfied, the project is marked complete and promoted to production. You move on to your next project!

As a worker, you're responsible for:

  • Understanding PRDs – Carefully reading and understanding client requirements before starting development.
  • Quality Development – Writing clean, maintainable code that meets the project specifications.
  • Communication – Keeping the project status updated and communicating blockers or questions.
  • Iteration – Responding to client feedback and making requested changes.
  • Professionalism – Treating each project with care and delivering on time.
